East bay Flats
When the East Bay's Hills flatten out toward the San Francisco Bay they become the Flats. The homes here are smaller than those in the hills, and are more casual in their appearance and upkeep. At times we sense an "accidental' vibe in their yards: odd objects lie here and there, materials don't quite match up. It's as if the homes are saying, "I'm feeling lazy – I'll let that go until tomorrow."
